25 YO + Kei Truck Vehicle Registration, Northeastern U.S.
- Connecticut, CT: Â Kei trucks in Connecticut can be registered at your local DMV for street-legal commercial or personal use on public roads.
- Maine, ME: The state of Maine allows Kei trucks to be street-legal with a speed restriction of 60 mph within 100 miles of the registered address.
- Massachusetts, MA: Japanese mini trucks will be allowed on the public streets in the state of Massachusetts from September 2024.Â
- New Hampshire, NH:  Mini trucks are street-legal in New Hampshire with a 35 mph speed restriction. These vehicles must be driven within 25 mi of the driver’s residence or business.
- New York, NY: Â Kei trucks in New York are road-legal. However, 20% of local DMVs make it a hassle to register due to a lack of knowledge.
Road-Legal Kei Truck UTVs
Kei trucks can be on all roads 55 mph or less and bypass the 25-year federal vehicle exemption by registering as UTVs in states that permit street-legal UTVs. Forty-five states honor each other's laws. Receiving your license plates can be completed by mail and without being a resident of the State.

Mini Trucks For Off-Road, Northeastern U.S.
- New Jersey, NJ: Kei trucks cannot be registered for road use through New Jersey registration. However, you can register out of state as street-legal UTVs with our recommended legal service.
- Pennsylvania PA: Mini trucks cannot be registered for road use in Pennsylvania. However, using our suggested legal service, you can register them out of state as street-legal UTVs.
- Rhode Island, RI: Japanese mini trucks for sale are prohibited on public streets through Rohde Island
- Vermont, VT: Mini trucks cannot be licensed for road use in Vermont. They can be street-legal by being registered in another state as street-legal UTVs through our recommended legal service.
